The next two weeks I’m in Soyans, Le Drome, France. A hamlet of 100 people, no cell phone service or wi-fi. I love it. I am having a complete rest after a lot of movement traveling in Scotland and Provence. |

Nice, Toulon, and Marseilles were interesting but not surprising. |

I preferred the small village of Puget Ville where I stayed with Gilles Barat, the brother of my friend Isabelle. I loved walking 20 minutes into town to sample the food, and café life. Afternoons were spent reading, studying French, and watching the men play boule in the local park. They are seriously intense. Every movement, every decision, a manner of strategy is meticulously considered. Every man a Napoleon of the boulodrome.
